Rape Palaver: Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo Fights Dirty, Timi Dakolo draws battle-line with police

Image
There are indications that the rape case involving Mrs Busola Dakolo, and founder of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, has taken a frightening dimension following the resolve of Mr Timi Dakolo, the victim’s husband, to defend his wife with his life. According to a post by Mr Dakolo on his Instagram page on Saturday, the petition sent by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, IGP Special Tactical Squad, Force Headquarters, Abuja, is a sign that all is not well. He also raised an alarm over the movement of strange men in a white Toyota mini bus around his house. He, however, shared his fears on his social media page saying: “Our lawyers had told us to get ready for this letter. We have long been ready for your intimidation and dirtiness. For your Ilorin methods and underhand tactics. “A pastor? Bribing investigating officials to delay summons? Paying dirty bloggers to fabricate things that cover the truth, going to the IG’s people under dark to force

Babies  could be being exposed to harmful chemicals from  birth , with mothers’  breast milk  being found to contain a high concentration of flame retardants, a new report reveals. The warning comes from the  Commons Environmental Audit Committee , which raised concerns about flame-retardant chemicals found in home furnishings. The chemicals used in UK upholstery, furniture and electronics are considered to be of “very high concern” and could be linked to  cancers  and reproductive issues, the report warns. Though many of the compounds have been banned following fears about their harmful effects, concerns persist because of their previous widespread use and the fact the chemicals could build up in the body. "Most people assume that they aren't at risk from toxic chemicals but the reality is different,” committee chairwoman Mary Creagh said. "Mums in the UK have some of the world's highest concentrations of flame retardants in their breast milk, some

At least 50 killed in fuel tanker explosion in Nigeria

At least 50 people have been killed and several others injured in Nigeria after a fuel tanker crashed off the road and exploded as people collected fuel. The driver of the tanker, who was travelling through the village of Ahumbe in Benue state in northern Nigeria, lost control of the vehicle after trying to dodge a pothole, local reports say. A 14-seater bus collided with the burning tanker and also caught fire. Residents had rushed to syphon fuel from the tanker when it exploded, causing a blast. “We have removed at least 10 dead bodies from the scene of the incident while over 50 people were affected,” Benue state Federal Road Safety Commission Sector Commander Aliyu Baba told  AFP. “Owing to the nature of the inferno, I am afraid more discoveries might be made today as rescue efforts continue.” A spokesman for the governor in central Benue state told  Reuters about 50 people were killed, although the police are yet to confirm. A sunbather who was nearly hit by the body of a stowaway falling from a  plane was left in “complete shock”, neighbours said today.  Software engineer John Baldock was in his garden in  Clapham when the man’s body crashed onto the lawn just a metre away after falling from the  Kenya Airways flight. A neighbour said Mr Baldock was left “trembling” and is now believed to have left the house where he rented a room, to stay with his parents in Devon. The neighbour said: “John was sunbathing in the back garden. I heard a loud crash, I thought the house was falling down. “My husband saw the body in the garden. John came to the front of the house, he was trembling and shaking, he could hardly speak. “He has gone away and hasn’t been back since the incident.” The force of the impact left a crater in the lawn and smashed paving stones in a path. The neighbour said that Mr Baldock, who is in his twenties, recently moved into the £2.3 million house, which he had rented
